Low-cost Assistive Technology You Can Build Yourself

Retired engineer and inventor Bob Gray has a progressive motor neuron disease similar to Lou Gehrig’s disease or ALS.  Bob predicted his own walking and then arm strength would become increasingly compromised over time.

He has designed, made and overseen the making of machines that will help him maintain his independence for as long as possible.

Bob’s “contraptions” are effective and inexpensive assistive technology that you can build yourself or with the help of a handyman. Click here to view and download the designs.
